Regal Revival!​

A two-phase restoration of the historic Avalon Regal Theater on Chicago’s South Side has been approved. The project is currently in the construction planning phase, with groundbreaking scheduled for Spring 2026. The grand Banquet Hall is first expected to reopen in 2027 for our 100-year anniversary and the auditorium by 2028.

​​

All donor and investor names will appear directly in front of the theater's main entrance visible from 79th Street beginning 2026.

Invest in ART Bonds

Our $250 social impact ART Bonds offer a 5% annual return over 5 years and will fund ongoing development planning costs. Investors’ names will be honored on a plaque at the theater entrance starting Summer 2026. Multiple ART bonds can be purchased per individual or organization. We have already successfully raised over $100,000 towards our $500,000 goal. Investments will be secured by over $5 million in insured historic tax credits to be allocated to the development. This is a great opportunity for the community to successfully invest in itself.

 

Our first class of investors (pictured below) saw an average return of over 20% and have had their initial capital successfully redeemed.

Brick by Brick Campaign

Supporters can sponsor a brick for $100 to help fund the theater's redevelopment. Supporters will receive a name plaque displayed outside the building and a piece of its ornate terracotta facade.

​Naming a Seat

Supporters can name one of the theater’s 2,500 auditorium seats starting at $1,000. Benefits include a personalized plaque, performance tickets, a framed certificate, and ongoing recognition.

​

Seats begin at $1,000 beyond the first three rows of the main floor and include the following benefits:

​

- 4 tickets to performances per year (does not include private events) 

- Embossed name plaque positioned on an auditorium seat beginning 2028 for 2 years

- Framed Seat Certificate and duplicate name plaque

- On-going recognition at fundraising events and at the grand opening​​
